Brightstar is a Christian rock duo based out of Hoopeston, Illinois, led by Adam Wood and Jessi Enyiaku. Adam is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and serves as lead pastor in Paxton, Illinois, while Jessi serves in worship ministry. Together, they create music rooted in faith, honesty, healing, and hope, with a mission to bring the message of Jesus into dark, overlooked, and broken places.
Musically, Brightstar blends modern Christian rock with emotional storytelling, heavy guitars, cinematic textures, and lyrics that speak to mental, spiritual, and emotional battles. Their song “FIGHT” featuring KJ-52 reached #1 on the Christian Music Weekly CHH/Rhythmic chart, while “What Lives In Me” climbed into the national Top 3 on the Christian Music Weekly Rock chart. Their current release, “Fading Echoes (2026),” revisits one of Brightstar’s earliest songs with a deeper, heavier sound, exploring grief, memory, loss, and the way someone’s presence can still feel close even after they're gone.
Brightstar is also part of the larger work of Brightstar Ministries, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Hoopeston, Illinois. The ministry exists to create Christ-centered music, books, and resources that support mental, emotional, spiritual, and neurodivergent well-being. Through music, autism-focused church resources, discipleship tools, and creative outreach, Brightstar Ministries seeks to meet people in places traditional ministry does not always reach and help them find the hope and light of Christ.
